A dual background in formal sport psychology training and real coaching experience shapes an approach built around what actually happens in competition.
Tyler Liberta
Tyler Liberta is a sport and performance psychology consultant currently completing supervised practicum hours toward CMPC (Certified Mental Performance Consultant) certification through AASP (Association for Applied Sport Psychology). Tyler holds a Master's degree in Sport and Performance Psychology.
Alongside this consulting work, Tyler brings 7 years of coaching experience, currently coaching high school soccer. This dual background — formal training in sport psychology combined with real experience on the sideline as a coach — shapes an approach that's grounded in what actually happens in competition, not just theory.
Liberta Sport Psychology works primarily with student athletes across all sports, from youth through college level, and is also open to working with professional athletes. The approach isn't tied to any single sport or issue — it's built to meet each athlete where they are and work through whatever's getting in the way of their performance, whether that's a specific mental block or a broader pattern that shows up across their game.
"Coaching keeps this work honest. It's one thing to know the theory — it's another to have watched an athlete freeze up in the final minutes of a game and understand, from experience, what actually helps in that moment."
